Typical Day

Arrival Day: Arrival is after 4pm (Warning: you can arrive early, but you will not be able to access your lodging and you may be put to work).  Appetizers will be out around 6 and we will be serving dinner at approximately 7:30 pm allowing time for late arrivals.  At 5pm we will have a short 10 mile ride.  This ride will just be a short orientation ride for you to be able to get to know each other, judge what you may want to do daily, and for you to get to know all of the capabilities of the Garmin GPS.

Layover Days: These are the days after we arrive at a new location.  With our typical trip being six nights, and three transition days, there are typically three layover days.  These are great days for our participants to make the tour meet their own desires.  We will have wonderful tours planned taking in the sites around this day’s vacation home.  We encourage everyone to ride these days, even if your partner wants to relax, but we will also have multiple excursions planned for these days.  However, you are on vacation, so bring a book or an easel and relax by the pool, hot tub, pond or bask on one of the best views you could imagine.  Any special evening events will take place on layover days.   If we have any dinners planned outside of camp, they will take place on layover days.

Transfer Days: These are the days we move from one property to the next.  These days are mostly spent in the saddle.  Our properties can be as much as seventy miles apart, and we will work with everyone to select the ride to best get them there(that may mean some time in the van).  We will not plan any excursions for these days as the focus will be on the riding and getting set up in the new location.  We will typically have noted various locations en route on transfer days where you will find a good lunch you will be comfortable walking into from your bike.  You will be on your own for Transfer Day lunches.  Dinners will always be in camp on transfer days.

Mornings: Breakfast will typically be served at 8 each morning.  On Transfer days, you will see us pushing things along.  Your support staff has a busy day ahead of breaking down, transporting, providing sag, and setting up.  If you see someone with a bagel hanging out of his mouth, pumping your tire with one hand and carrying your luggage with the other, it is one of our workers and you will know it is a transfer day.

Evenings:   Each night we will have a campfire (weather and fire regulations permitting) and a short video recap of the day and preview of the next days ride.  Most of our evenings will be spent outdoors whether by the campfire, by the video screen, hot tub, or pool.
