Arrive at Linden’s Mount Welby, a property over 200 years old that will take your breath away with the original woodwork and fireplaces throughout, yet with the modern touches of luxury master bath and gourmet kitchen.  You will have the opportunity to do a short ride at around 5 pm if you choose, getting you acquainted with the other riders, your abilities with others, and basic knowledge of the Garmin GPS.  When you return, appetizers will be served, and dinner will follow at 7:30, allowing time for late arrivals.   Enjoy the evening by the patio fireplace, take a dip in the hot tub, or enjoy the serenity of the manicured gardens.

Day Two:

You are in our Northern Region of Virginia Wine Country.  Today, we will be riding by several wineries, Oasis, Rappahannock,   They all know you’re in the area and expecting you to roll on in.  Enjoy this enclave of estate properties and wineries.  Choose to ride among the rolling estate properties of Rappahannock County, or make the more challenging Northern Loop of Skyline Drive including the 6 mile to Dickey’s Ridge.

Day Three:

Transition to Barboursville’s Flutterby Fields.  You may choose the shorter ride today so you can get cleaned up and walk over to Barbousville Vineyard, Virginia’s premier winery.  Depending on the weather, our May tour will be able to enjoy the pool.

Day Four:

Choose between wonderful riding in Madison County’s foothills along the Shenandoah National Park, or continue on to Sperryville, back up to Thornton Gap to Swift Run Gap on Skyline Drive and riding the middle section of Skyline Drive, then take the fun descent back to Flutterby Fields.

Day Five:

Transfer day to Morningside Guest Cottage near Afton Mountain.  This is a beautiful ride through the most popular riding are of Thomas Jefferson’s Charlottesville area.  You will experience rolling hills following the Eastern boundary to the Shenandoah National Park.  This will be a fun Rural Virginia Tour where you will quickly realize why the Charlottesville area consistently ranks as one of the top places to live, raise families, and bicycle in America.  Again, those needing to climb, you will have the option to up to Panorama on Skyline Drive and take this the rest of the way to Morningside Cottage, allowing you to have completed Skyline Drive and then some, in two days.

Day Six: (one extra day at Morningside on May Tour, tour 3)

Layover at Morningside Guest Cottage.  We will have a wonderful ride planned in the foothills of Afton and Wintergreen mountains.  Or, this is your opportunity to really push yourself if you haven’t yet; climb Wintergreen Mountain and ride the Blue Ridge Parkway back up to Afton Mountain.  This will be the most challenging of all of your days if you choose this option.  Then spend the evening on Charlottesville’s Downtown Mall.  Dinner will be at Siips, where they have planned a wonderful three course meal with wine pairings.

Day Seven:

It is back home today.  We are at the Southern end of Skyline Drive and your car is at the Northern end.  We will support you in completing Skyline Drive today in one day of riding the opposite direction you rode the Drive all week, or we will gladly transport you back to your vehicle.
